About The Data:
These data provide a health profile for racial and ethnic groups in Oregon. Data
shown in the tables were obtained by random telephone interviews conducted monthly
throughout 1989 to 1994 as part of the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System
(BRFSS).
Health Risk Profile of Racial/Ethnic Groups:
The first set of tables uses 14 health indicators to describe the health of five
groupings: Asians, African Americans, American Indians, Hispanics and non-Hispanic
Whites. The tables contain weighted prevalence estimates and provide the baseline data
needed for health planning or assessment associated with minority groups in Oregon.
