Free Women's Health Check
The Oregon BCC Program provides free women's health checks to eligible women. The women's health checks are funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate.
Do you qualify for a free women's health check?
You may if you:
- are 40 - 64
- are older than 64 and are not eligible for Medicare Part B
- are uninsured or underinsured
- have an income below 250% of the federal poverty level (print chart (pdf) )
How do I get a free women's health check?
You must call the BCC Program nearest you. The BCC staff will go over eligibility requirements and advise you whether you can be enrolled or not.
What is a women's heath check?
A Women's Health Check may include:
- Blood pressure check
- Height and weight check
- Clinical Breast Exam (CBE)
- Time to learn about breast self exam (BSE)
- A mammogram
- A pelvic exam
- A Pap test
- Time to discuss health concerns
What happens if something isn't normal?
Follow-up services may include:
- Some diagnostic services such as ultrasound, breast biopsy, surgical consultation, colposcopy
- Cancer treatment for some women qualified through Medicaid (also known as BCCM)
- Referral to treatment services
